AN INVISIBLE SNAKE OF LIMA LARAS PALACE

 This is a true story that came from LIMA LARAS village, hamlet 1, Tanjung Tiram sub district, Batubara regency, North Sumatra. To visit there, we can go by motorcycle or car, it is about 136 km from Medan. In that place, there was a palace namely LIMA LARAS PALACE. It is an enormous palace, but is not luxurious. The size of  the palace is 102 x 98 meters with 4 floors. The palace has 28 doors and 66 windows, the architectur is the combination between Malay and China.

       LIMA LARAS palace was built by a King Datuk Muhammad Yoeda (King – XI)
in 1907 and was finished in 1912. He has four wifes, the first wife is encek Sojuk with 7 childs, 5 sons and 2 daughters. The second wife is Encek Ulung Matsuko without child. The third wife is Encek Daromo with 3 sons. The Last wife is Encek Antik Zahara with 2 daughters.His reign was in 1883 – 1919. The palace was supervised and controled by a descendant of King – XIII . He is Datuk Muhammad Azminsyah, he has been old with grey hair and grey moustache.

       According to his story, there was a invisible snake around the LIMA LARAS palace which often evinces itself. The snake is one of the twins from the descendant of King – VI. In the pass time, the queen gave birth her two girls, one baby was a girl and the other one was a snake.

       Day by day, the snake grew bigger and large. Then the snake was thrown into the Tanjung Tiram sea by the king, because one of the members of the royal family had a dream to ged rid of the snake. Based on the story, the snake still came to the castle. The snake would revealed it self when it was offended. Unfortunately, at that time, there was MTQ (Qur’an Reteation contest) in 1986. Still the committee did not give an offerings as a requirement.

     The snake also showed itself and broke all of part in yhe palace. The society of  LIMA LARAS village were shocked. They left the palace when the day was rainy. According to informan, every people may not carelessly held an activity or event in the palace at other times because the snake had manifasted itself on the road. So it made all peoples scared. Thus, the informan said that the snake became the castellan of the palace because the snake lived in around the palace.
